Q: Where should I apply Dyna-Gun Shield on my firearm?
A: Dyna-Gun Shield should be applied to all internal and external parts of your firearm. See below for more information about specific firearms:
Shotgun – Dyna-Gun Shield should be applied to all internal and external parts of the shotgun except the bore. This includes the piston on semi-autos and gas rings, inside and outside of the magazine tube, the action arm, inside the receiver, and all parts in the receiver.
Rifle – Dyna-Gun Shield should be applied to all internal and external parts of the rifle except the bore.
Handgun – Dyna-Gun Shield should be applied to all internal and external parts of the handgun except the bore. Apply Dyna-Gun Shield from the brass forward in the revolver cylinder.
Muzzleloader – Dyna-Gun Shield should be applied to all internal and external parts of the muzzleloader except the bore.
Q: Can I apply Dyna-Gun Shield to the stocks or grips on my firearm?
A: No. Dyna-Gun Shield is extremely slick.
Q: What are the benefits of Dyna-Gun Shield?
A: Dyna-Gun Shield prevents rust and reduces maintenance. This is because after applying Dyna-Gun Shield you don’t have to wipe the gun down and oil it. It has UV inhibitors that protect against fading on all case-colored parts. Dyna-Gun Shield also has an 850 hour salt-spray rating. This coating is extremely slick—it will allow ice to form, but not to stick to it. Dyna-Gun Shield and Dyna-Bore Coat have different benefits for different types of firearms:
Shotgun – Dyna-Gun Shield makes dust, dirt and mud easier to clean from the inside and outside of the shotgun. It protects from rust caused by handling, blood and the elements. Internally, it doesn’t let powder residue build up and cause malfunction. This is why it’s important to coat all parts on gas- or recoil-operated semi-automatic shotguns. Dyna-Bore Coat is applied in the bore only using a bore mop. On semi-automatic shotguns, make sure you get Dyna-Bore Coat in the gas port. DBC in the gas port will let burnt kernels of powder pass through the port instead of plugging it up. DBC also eliminates plastic wad fouling in the bore and the choke tube and protects against rust.
Rifle – Dyna-Gun Shield gives the same benefits to rifles as shotguns with a cleaning patch and a slotted patch holder to the inside of the bolt body and the inside surfaces of the receiver. Also do the main spring and the firing pen. Use Dyna-Bore Coat in the rifle’s bore to greatly reduce or eliminate jacket fouling. Dyna-Bore Coat also greatly reduces powder fouling. This lets you shoot extremely long strings without cleaning. It also makes cleaning very quick and easy.
Handgun – On the cylinder faces and top straps of revolvers, Dyna-Gun Shield makes powder residue and lead splatters very easy to clean. Dyna-Gun Shield should be applied from the brass forward in revolver cylinders. It protects against rust, the elements and blood. It also protects against UV fade on all case colored frame parts. Dyna-Bore Coat makes leading extremely easy to clean for those of you who fire cast lead. It also greatly reduces or eliminates jacket fouling as well as powder fouling. It makes clean-up quick and easy. Lead can often be removed by putting a patch on a tight jag and bumping it with the heel of your hand down the barrel of the firearm. This will cause it to come out in strips.
Muzzleloader – Dyna-Gun Shield will protect against rust on all muzzleloader parts internal and external. This rust can be caused by residue leftover from propellants, the elements, blood or sweat. Dyna-Bore Coat will protect the bore against rust. It will greatly reduce or eliminate the crud ring and fouling build-up associated with all propellants. Dyna-Bore Coat and Dyna-Gun Shield eliminate the work of having to clean your muzzleloader between rounds and immediately after you shoot, this means there’s no excuse not to take your kids to the range. Shoot all day and clean next week if you wish.
Q: How do I convince my wife I’m not just buying more crap for my gun?
A: There are other things you can use Dyna-Gun Shield for. Here are a few:
- Use Dyna-Gun Shield to coat all the faucets in your home. Three light coats of DGS will prevent hard water build-up and stains on your faucet. You can clean them by just wiping them with a rag.
- DGS can be used to coat porcelain or stainless steel sinks and prevent stains. This will make them very easy to clean.
- You can apply DGS to the inside of glass shower doors. Soap scum won’t stick to it.
- Use three thin coats of DGS on the polycarbonate lens cover on truck headlights. This will prevent bugs from sticking to them and prevent the cloudiness caused by UV rays pulling the plasticizers out of the plastic.
- DGS is optically clear and can be applied to automotive glass. Ice and snow won’t stick.
- DGS can be applied to wheels. Brake dust won’t stick to it.
- Apply DGS to all chrome or chrome-looking parts.
- If you use your imagination, I’m sure you can come up with more uses for DGS.
